Our first-ever virtual Backyard BBQ, hosted by celebrity Chef Richard Blais and Privacera’s Ross DiStefano, was nothing short of an unforgettable event. We’d like to thank all attendees for joining us, especially our customers and partners. After the event-filled year we’ve all had, this was a great reminder of how food can connect us on more than one level.
For those of you who may not know him, Chef Richard Blais is a successful restaurateur, James Beard-nominated cookbook author, and televised celebrity chef personality. He’s most recognized as the winner of Bravo’s Top Chef All-Stars. He’s also a recurring guest on ABC’s The Chew, Good Morning America, and most recently, Food Network’s newest cut-throat competition, Tournament of Champions.
Following a brief introduction by Ross DiStefano, Privacera Senior Account Executive and resident chef, Chef Blais kicked off the event with the silly banter and the latest culinary news before making a couple of adult beverages using a bubble gun and one of his favorite ingredients, liquid nitrogen. He then went into step-by-step instructions on how to barbecue properly, season your cast iron skillet, and mix your own ranch dressing, and other tips and tricks. He shared stories of traveling and used creative, out-of-box ingredients and gadgets, including a homemade flamethrower he used to melt the cheese for the burgers. (Wow!)
Check out these great action shots!

It was an hour filled with amazing food and entertainment, and we’re grateful to have shared it with our customers, partners, and colleagues. Special thanks to Chef Richard Blais, whom we’d gladly watch make burgers with a flamethrower and liquid nitrogen with again any day!
With such a fun event behind us, we are already looking forward to the next. Want to know where our team will be next? Check out our events page for the latest updates, and be sure to visit Why Privacera? to learn how Privacera can help you with your data governance and security needs.
